# Optical Design Modes

There are three optical design modes that are supported by KostaCLOUD: [Imaging](/kostacloud/advanced-optics-ray-trace.md), [Illumination](/kostacloud/optical-design/optical-design-modes/illumination.md), and [Cavity](/kostacloud/optical-design/optical-design-modes/cavity.md).

[Illumination](/kostacloud/optical-design/optical-design-modes/illumination.md) and [Cavity](/kostacloud/optical-design/optical-design-modes/cavity.md) modes are currently under pre-alpha release, therefore are not currently available to the general public.

[Imaging](/kostacloud/advanced-optics-ray-trace.md) mode is currently in Beta release.
