# Freeform/Prism

This Element type is defined as a prism, which can be designed to support various edge surfaces. The default is Flat, which can then be used as a standard prims to create prisms such as the Amici Prim, Right-Angle Prism, Penta Prism, Porro Prism, Schmidt Prism, Dove Prism, Wollaston Prism, etc.

The Pechan-roof prism is named in honor of John Greivenkamp's memory as the: Greivenkamp-Pechan-roof prism.

Any of the surfaces of any prism specified can take on a sag profile, therefore creating a freeform optic.
